Rules of the Bag
01. Pick Your Toys
Number
As children grow and their interests evolve, their toys can become more complex and expensive. To accommodate this, our FlipJoy service adapts accordingly.
You have the flexibility to choose a different age category for the toys you’ll receive, irrespective of the age range of the toys you send to us.
- 10 toys (minimum value of $10 each at time of purchase) for kids under 3 years.
- 5 toys (minimum value of $20 each at time of purchase) for kids aged 3 to 5.

– Easy to clean toys*: no fabric toys, stuffed animals, dolls, or bath toys**.
– All parts must be present for multi-piece toys or sets.
– Any battery-operated components must be in working order.
– Only new/unused arts and crafts supplies and kits are accepted.
– Puzzles, LEGOs, and board games should be in their original box and age-appropriate. Wooden puzzles do not require their original packaging.
– No books, monogramed***, holiday, or religious items.
02. Check Your Toys
Quality
We accept toys rated Good or higher on our quality scale. Toys with inappropriate writing, images, or stickers* are not accepted.
*If there is a sticker that can be safely taken off without damaging the toy, please do so before sending it in and we’d be happy to accept it.
Size
Make sure that your selection of toys fits comfortably in the provided FlipJoy bag. If the toys don’t fit, please select a different combination of toys that can be accommodated within the bag.

Welcome To FlipJoy's First Family!
A Note On Signup Timing
At FlipJoy, we recognize that the timing of your subscription sign-up can impact the number of available Wednesdays you have to schedule a flip. Those who join earlier in the month naturally have more options compared to those who sign up later. While FlipJoy’s full launch will offer flexible options to start your subscription immediately or delay to the following month, during the soft launch we are keeping things simple:
- You will pay your first swap fee at the time of sign-up.
- If you cannot find a Wednesday this month that works for you, simply reply to your welcome email and let us know you’d like to schedule your first flip next month. The payment you made at sign-up will be applied to your first flip next month—essentially allowing you to secure your spot now and start later if needed.

We offer toys for ages 6-12 months, 1-3 years, and 3-5 years, ensuring a perfect match for your child’s developmental stage.
At FlipJoy, we recognize that children’s interests and abilities can vary widely, even within the same age group. That’s why our age categories—6-12 months, 1-3 years, and 3-5 years—are intentionally broad. We’ve seen firsthand that younger kids often grow and learn quickly with toys designed for older children, while older kids can find new and imaginative ways to engage with toys aimed at younger ages. Our primary focus is on the novelty factor; we believe that the excitement of exploring new and different toys is what truly captivates children’s attention and enthusiasm for play. By offering a diverse selection that encourages this sense of discovery, we aim to enrich the play experience for kids of all ages, ensuring it’s both safe and enjoyable.
When FlipJoy fully launches, you’ll be able to choose from a variety of subscription options to fit your family’s needs, including:
Monthly and 6-Month plans, each offering 1 to 4 swaps per month
A Flexibility Plan, where flips are purchased upfront and used anytime within the year
During the soft launch, we’re keeping things simple: You’ll be enrolled in our standard monthly plan, which includes 1 toy flip per month.
At FlipJoy, we ensure high-quality toys by setting minimum value requirements. As children grow, their toys often become more complex and valuable, so our service adapts accordingly. You can swap:
- 10 toys (minimum value $10 each) for kids under 3 years.
- 5 toys (minimum value $20 each) for kids aged 3 to 5.
You can choose a different age category for the toys you’ll receive, no matter the age of the toys you send.
Absolutely! Once FlipJoy delivers the toys, they’re yours to keep. For your next swap, just send back any toys you’re ready to part with, as long as they meet our quality guidelines. If your child outgrows or loses interest in a toy later, you can always include it in a future swap. It’s all about flexibility and keeping the joy of play alive!
Our FlipJoy bag is 24”x36”, approximately the size of 1.5 standard 13-gallon kitchen trash bags. The selection of toys you plan to send in must fit comfortably in the provided FlipJoy bag. If the toys don’t fit, please select a different combination of toys that can be accommodated within the bag.
We understand that as kids grow, their toys do too! Older children’s toys often involve more details and complexity, which can be reflected in their cost. At FlipJoy, we adjust our flip values for different age groups to ensure every flip is fair and fun. This way, we make sure that all our young friends, no matter their age, get to enjoy toys that are just right for their stage of growth and discovery!
